Coriander Girl

3 Feb

The sweet smells of lavender, hand made soap and fresh cut flowers hit you in the face like a stroll down the famous perfume shops on the Champs Elysees. Allison Westlake has transformed her love of flowers, antiques and cute locally made gift ideas (along with the ever present dose of personalized hospitality to each of her customers) into a reality. Her “everything cute and brilliant” shop can be found at 1537 Queen Street West. The shop hugs the cities Polish Roncesvalles Village and up and coming Parkdale.

Love is in the air. Valentines Day is fast approaching and there is NO better place in Toronto to get a selection of gifts for your loved one(s). Allison can put together a beautiful bouquet for you in a flash (and none of that “you must spend at least 30 dollars on a bouquet!” This girl is flexible for all tastes and budgets!)

Allison also has a great collection of Valentine friendly gift packages including honey from Quebec, handmade soaps from Prince Edward County and a wild assortment of loose leaf teas not to mention a collection of local crafts made by her Parkdale Peeps.

Allison Westlake, or is it Coriander Girl…? I think they are one and the same…she responds to both and always has a great big smile on her face! Do yourself a favor and pop into her shop to discover Toronto’s new little gem on Queen Street West.

Hello Alison! You have been so kind to me, that I owe you an update.
Life for the Coynes is on an upswing. Dorothy has just received her fourth chemo treatment at PMH. The sensational news are that these are working for her. She has receieved them at three-week intervals since May. This means we have been able to reach out and try to get back to the “old normal”. For that reason we have just been able to renew our love affair with The County, which has been an annual event for us. We have just returned fron a one night stand at the Waring House….loaded with wine, lavender, fruit and vegetables, and home made soaps. Can you tell that I am excited and happy? No doubt about it. Our view of The County is “peaceful, pretty, and prosperous”. Just love it!
Hope all is well with you and “Tyler from Picton”. Sincerely, Gordon
